2010 is the ninth year of Festival of the Peninsula and the tradition of great music and family entertainment continues. Our headline concert features two traditional classics, Andy Irvine and 4 Men & a Dog and we open this year with Kieran Goss, one of Ireland’s most prolific singer/song writers. Since 2002 when it all began hardly a year has gone by when a member of the famous Sands family has not graced one of our stages and delighted audiences. This year we welcome the whole family of Anne, Ben and Colum and Tommy for one of their rare local concerts. The Scottish tradition is provided by evergreen entertainers the Alexander Brothers while the Fureys, Anthony Toner and Hugh Robinson with Ards Writers complete the line-up. For something a little bit different you can join Anthea McWilliams, with her unique tale of dancing around Ireland, view the Wartime Living History Association World War Two Remembered in Conway Square and the Town Hall or take a leisurely boat cruise on Strangford Lough.
The Festival of the Peninsula has something for everyone so come, stay, enjoy our hospitality, admire our scenery and above all be entertained in the Ards Peninsula.
