2008 is the seventh year of the festival and the tradition of great music, literary workshops, exciting tours and family entertainment has been continued.
The festival has a strong contemporary flavour this year with Kieran Goss and his special guests, Brendan and Declan Murphy from The 4 of Us our headline artists. The opening concert also features three of the Province’s most accomplished young singer/songwriters. Irish traditional stalwarts the Fureys are also included with the Scottish connection provided by the ever popular Alexander Brothers. Comedy is also introduced with a tribute to James Young one of the Peninsula’s adopted sons. No Irish festival would be complete without a member of the legendary Sands family and Ben Sands hosts the traditional lunchtime Sunday session. Family entertainment is again included with two performances from Circus Hilarious and the return of children’s storytelling.
There is something for everyone in the programme so come and enjoy yourself at Festival of the Peninsula in the Ards Peninsula.
