An exhibition of work loosely based on classical paintings and sculptures dating back to 1434. Each piece has been created three dimensionally by building a set or diorama using mixed media and ceramics which is then photographed and printed onto canvas. Each reference has been chosen for its strong imagery and composition which the artist then interprets. It was the opportunity of being able to tell a good story, whether humorous or sad, through her art work that really captured Vivien’s imagination and still does to this day. This new collection of work is her own personal tribute to those very creative, happy and informative years spent at art college.

Since graduating with a degree in Textile Design, Zoe has been developing her textile compositions using carefully chosen reclaimed and found materials. Zoes’ work elevates the natural beauty of time worn objects such as the humble pebble. Creating families and patterns within her mostly framed works, her unique and delicate compositions bring a cherished atmosphere to objects, transporting them to a celebrated and decorative status. This exhibition explores the celebration of natural elements within textile compositions. Each piece created has been composed using carefully chosen materials, including reclaimed fabrics, antique threads and found elements. Zoes’ approach to colour and composition transforms a space and her showcase of creations are something distinctively beautiful.
